If you made it this far, you probably already have an idea about Wellness for Women - the nonprofit making this happen! But just in case you need a refresher, Wellness for Women is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that engages the community to empower women from all socioeconomic backgrounds with the restorative care and education.
Bodeology is a comprehensive wellspace in downtown Gainesville that focuses its humanitarian efforts on inspiring women, children, and families from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds to lead enriched, healthy lifestyles that are holistic in mind, body, and spirit.
Through educational workshops, innovative resources, fitness classes, health services, and workshops, we motivate our clients to set and achieve lifelong wellness goals.
As a holistic spa and therapy center, we embrace, nurture and enhance balance by offering a restorative environment, thoughtful amenities and highly customized treatment plans.
Wellness for Women:
Wellness for Women, Bodeology’s non-profit, is offering its first 200 hour immersive Egyptian Yoga Teacher training through its Educate Her program: an educational initiative that provides women with the resources and skills necessary to jumpstart a new career in wellness.
The 200 hour immersive course, approved and recognized by the Yoga Alliance (the ultimate yoga certification body), will be taught by Master Kemetic Yoga Instructor, Yirser Hotep and will equip you with the adequate skills and business acumen to launch a new career as a certified Kemetic Yoga Instructor.
So who is in this course?
Because our primary focus is to create an integrated environment that unites women from all racial, economic, and ethnic backgrounds, the Kemetic Yoga Teacher Training Certification is available for purchase to all women. However, the fundraising segment (for which you are approved for!) is exclusively available to women who would not be able to otherwise afford the cost of the course and/or women sourced from our partner organizations that have experienced trauma or abuse. Every woman in the fundraising segment was required to undergo the same application process and was reviewed by the Wellness for Women committee for consideration.
Note: you will never have to disclose any details about your reasons for qualifying nor will you need to ever need to share that you received fundraising assistance during the course. It is our goal to make your experience comfortable and safe, without judgement. Let us know if you have any other requests or questions - and we will do whatever we can to make you feel at peace and at home.
We will talk more about fundraising specifics in the next section but just know that the fundraising segment is a valuable component to the program.
I’m still not entirely sure what Kemetic Yoga is…
Believe it or not, ‘Egypt’ is a modern term. The original inhabitants of the country called it Kemet, meaning black or the black land, because of the yearly inundation of the Nile River which caused the rich silt to overflow its banks. Therefore, Kemetic Yoga™ is the ancient Egyptian system of Yoga enlightenment based upon the practices of physical movements combined with controlled deep breathing and meditation. Not only will you have the chance to learn the ancient practices of the Egyptians, you will get a dose of history with your Master and founder of Kemetic Yoga and, Yirser Hotep.
It is a healing and regenerative Yoga system that is characterized by a series of geometrically progressive postures that creates alignment of the spinal column and corrects defects in the skeletal muscular system in order to relieve stress, increase blood circulation, nutrient and oxygen supply to vital body systems, and to allow internal life force energy and cerebral spinal fluid to flow more efficiently and abundantly throughout the entire body.
200 Hours are required for the instruction, but will be comprised of different learning formats including lecture, instructive movement, community service, studying, and reading.
Here is the breakdown:
180 Total Contact Hours - “Contact” here means the more traditional style of what a class is and is made up of lecture hours by Master Yoga Kemetic Instructor Yirser in group and individual settings, movement practices in group and individual settings, reading and reviewing written materials.
20 Total Non-Contact Hours - “Non-Contact” means experiential learning and studying or learning by doing. This is where you can put all that studying to hard work. Your non-contact hours will likely be during the two weeks after your 10 - day immersion course (unless you’re a superhuman that doesn’t need sleep). Your non-contact hours will be comprised of:
—> 10 Hours of volunteer yoga community service
—> 10 Hours of non-contact training aka studying on your own time to make sure your memory is primed for exam time!
We know this only scratches the surface and you probably have a ton of other questions. In any case, we suggest you do some additional reading to be as prepared as possible for the course. You can find so much info on Kemetic Yoga and Master Kemetic Yoga instructor Yirser at (www.kemeticyoga.com) or on the attached course packet.
II. Meet the Team
One of the biggest influencers of your success will be the bonds and trust you build with your yoga instructors and program coordinators. Just know we are here to serve you and above all else, we want you to succeed. Whether you’re a super extrovert eager to meet everyone at once or the quieter observer from afar, it is the team’s primary goal to make you feel welcome and to make your life better during your time working with Wellness for Women. So here are some faces to get you started:
Master Instructor Yirser Hotep: Yirser Ra Hotep is a master instructor of Yoga and the creator of the YogaSkills Method. He is the most senior instructor of Kemetic Yoga in the United States with over 42 years of experience practicing and teaching. Yirser was involved with the original research and documentation of Kemetic Yoga (Ancient Egyptian or African Yoga). He has trained and certified over 1000 Kemetic Yoga instructors across the globe through his school, YogaSkills School of Kemetic Yoga, and conducts historical/cultural/spiritual tours of Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, South Africa and other parts of the African Diaspora.
Elena Lakay: Elena is the founder of Bodeology and Wellness for Women. She was the first certified kemetic yoga instructor in Florida under the instruction of Master Kemetic Yoga Instructor Yirser and has embraced her path in health and wellness. When she’s not providing instruction herself or helping you lead a community yoga class, you will see Elena at Bodeology daily in her office making her business and nonprofit succeed.
Erinesha Hamilton: As operations manager and do-er of all things Bodeology / Wellness for Women, Erinesha is the glue that holds everything together. Whether you need to replace this welcome packet or are looking for details on the next Wellness for Women event, Erinesha is the ultimate administrator and helper. There’s no doubt she makes life better for everyone she interacts with and she is your go-to goddess for any general questions you have during the program.
Ariana Aragon: Ariana is the brand, marketing, and promotional guru for Wellness for Women and your kemetic yoga program. It is her job to answer any specific questions about fundraising, course details, and selling/marketing yourself. She wrote your welcome packet and will be providing additional sales and marketing training for all women in the fundraising segment. It is her job to ensure your success in the funding of the program and in your self promotion so that you can truly create a new career for yourself.
Wellness for Women Program Coordinators: Your program coordinators will be helping with events, setting up of the course, and helping with promotional activities. Though you may see rotating faces, be sure to ask them any questions you want! They will have information on event schedules, contact info, and general program details.

Friends and Family
Fundraising from friends, family, or those close to you is a great place to start. Start by personally reaching out to the people you are closest to and describe your goals. Setting an in-person meeting or giving them a personal text / call is a great way to let them know this is something important to you.
The people close to you are also most likely to be the first to share your story digitally so leverage their circle of influence by asking them to promote your efforts at work, online, and among their network.
The more people that know about your cause, the more likely you are to reach your goal and get the support you need. Plus, raising awareness can help other people understand your situation and connect them to your cause.
Sharing your campaign lets people know that it exists and makes it easy for them to access your page and donate. Post your page’s URL on all your social media accounts and ask your peers to contribute (or share your page with their networks if they can’t donate).
Be sure not to spam your social networks and make sure to keep content (anything you share online) engaging and varied. A maximum of 1 share per day is best practice. If you want to share more than once, make sure that your message and content is different. (Ex: share your fundraising page link in the morning and a personal video explaining your goals and future of Kemetic Yoga in the evening).
Tie the reader to your cause by speaking to their passions and values. Donors will want to know the “why” behind your fundraising goal.
Help potential supporters visualize the impact their donation will have.
Leverage varied networks for different audiences: social media channels, personal networks, and meeting new potential donors at public events are all different ways that you can reach your audiences. Don’t get stuck in one method and ask the Wellness for Women team for help and tips! They are here for you!
Wellness for Women will be helping the recipient women organize events for the fundraising women to promote and participate in. These events may range from donation-based group yoga courses to vegan bake sales. Stay tuned for more information on an upcoming event.
To make Bodeology and Wellness for Women leverage proprietary technology to aid in your personal yoga training efforts and to build your clientele after your program completion. Our custom Bodeology app will allow you to create your own yoga sequences and manage a virtual client network on our training app following your certification.
Online training plans, paired with your new expertise, digital presence, and training app, will allow you to sell more services to your clients. This way you can gain more clients from anywhere in the world.
Access to our training app will become available for free after certification is awarded.
